DVR is set in natural bushland. However we need to look after our trees, and grassy areas. The gardening of the railway is equally important to present a neat and tidy appearance.
We have a keen band of people tending to the railway's bushland. Whether it is mowing , weeding, or planting native trees and shrubs - there is plenty to do. In the summer there is watering to be done.
One feature tended and produced is the 'Avenue of Honour' - our tribute to members who have passed away while still a member of the railway. Located on the Inner Circle, the avenue will in a few years form a bushy corridor, and always provide a lasting reminder. Each tree is dedicated with a plaque.
